Monongalia County & surrounding areas
Our Morgantown local has been working hard on electoral progress and issues advocacy since their founding in 2018. In 2018, we organized thousands of door knocks and mailings for the slate of WFP endorsed candidates in Monongalia County, helping achieve a first-in-a-generation clean sweep of the 5 seats in the House of Delegates, District 51, sweeping in two excellent new delegates -- Evan Hansen and Danielle Walker. In 2019, they set their sites on the Morgantown City Council, and again achieved a clean sweep, electing all 7 endorsed City Councilors.
Morgantown Working Families has led numerous powerful rallies, vigils, marches and other actions bringing attention to some of our most pressing concerns -- from education to refugees to cannabis, we take the lead. We are now working with the ACLU to advance cannabis decriminalization in Morgantown.
Morgantown Working Families serves residents of the Morgantown region including all of Monongalia County and any neighbors who want to join us. We meet regularly, typically at in the evening after work about once a month. We also regularly organize and join in events and actions. Please keep up with our events & actions by visiting our Facebook page. You can also message our page for information.
