West Virginia Working Families Party fights every day to help make our state work for everyday West Virginians. As a state chapter of the Working Families Party, we support all the issues our national organization fights for, and we also focus on the particular issues that are most critical to West Virginia -- including education, public employee pay & benefits, labor rights, addiction, poverty, roads and broadband internet, and a just transition to a more diverse economy. Our locals around the state can and do advocate for the local issues that matter to our communities.

We've stood with teachers on the picket lines & we've lobbied our legislature for better funding for our public schools.

This fall, our Morgantown local is working on Cannabis Decriminalization with the WV ACLU, while our Charleston local is working on universal health care. Our Cabell County local is working on a wide range of ballot initiatives. Our Charleston area local, RiseUp, is continuing work on affordable health care (Medicare for All). Our Cheat River Valley local is exploring racial and economic justice as it relates to our local area's history (Arthurdale, in Preston County and its roots in Osage, in Monongalia County) and how reconciling with our past can help us make a better future.

Various locals have also recently worked on immigration, clean water, and food insecurity. Join a local, pick a cause, and let's get to work making West Virginia better for all West Virginians!
